Jarndyce and Jarndyce was a fictional court case in Bleak House concerning the fate of a large inheritance.
In December 2013, a Judge compared a court case he was hearing – also an inheritance dispute – as being like that of Jarndyce and Jarndyce. In a hearing at the Appeal Court, Lord Justice Davis said “This is a relatively modest estate.
